REPORT: Liverpool Join Everton In Race For £26m Rated La Liga Centre Back

Liverpool are interested in Real Sociedad defender Diego Llorente, according to reports in the Spanish media.

The La Liga club are believed to be prepared to let the centre-back leave for €30m (£26m) despite the player having a €50m release clause.

Sociedad are said to be keen to make a profit on the €8m they paid Real Madrid for Llorente in July 2017.

Liverpool scouts have reportedly been tracking the 25-year-old since he joined the Basque side, and have been impressed by what they have seen.

He has been one of Sociedad’s top performers this season, despite only playing 18 games due to ankle and hamstring injuries.

It is believed that Llorente could be a replacement for Joel Matip who is being tipped to return to Germany at the end of the campaign.

Whether the Reds will face any competition for the Spaniard, it remains to be seen. Everton and Roma are reportedly interested while Real Madrid do have a €25m buyback option on the player.
