REPORT: Liverpool Midfielder Set To Leave Club In The Summer

Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo is set to leave the club in the summer – the Reds will not exercise the Brazilian’s option to buy clause in his loan contract.

Arthur has made little impact since joining Liverpool on loan from Juventus. It isn’t all his own fault, however – he has had rotten luck with injuries and has struggled to adapt to Jurgen Klopp’s high-intensity pressing style.

So far in the season, Arthur has yet to make an appearance for Liverpool in the Premier League. He has played in one game so far – in the Reds’ 4-1 defeat against Napoli in the Champions League, where he came on as a substitute.

The 26-year-old thrives when he is given time on the ball – something that he will not receive in the Premier League, given its breakneck pace. He enjoyed his best years at Barcelona, where he made 48 appearances and scored three goals for the Catalonian giants.

His spell at Juventus was somewhat less impressive, across 42 appearances, so far, Arthur has scored just a single goal for the Old Lady.

Where Arthur’s career goes from here is a mystery at this current moment. He seems to be out of favour at Juventus, hence his loan move, but there don’t seem to be any clubs vying for his signature, either.
