REPORT: Liverpool Prepared To Offer Keita As They Look To Nab 52M Rated La Liga Star Ahead Of Chelsea

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool could use Naby Keita in their attempts to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, according to La Razon.

The Spanish rumour mongers claim that the Reds see the 26-year-old as an ideal replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum and, with Keita keen to go in the other direction, it could help them secure the €60m (£52m) rated Spaniard’s services.

Niguez has been heavily linked with Chelsea and Bayern Munich in recent days but reports in the English press suggest Atletico have already offered the player to Manchester City in exchange for Bernardo Silva.

While the Citizens are not thought to be interested in a swap deal, it still poses a problem for Liverpool. La Razon report that Atletico want either Silva or Udinese’s Rodrigo De Paul to replace Niguez.

It means that, at the moment, the La Liga champions are not particularly interested in taking Keita in exchange. Whether that will change as the summer goes on, we shall have to wait and see.
