REPORT: Liverpool Prepared To Pay French Sensation £34.5m A Year To Snub Real Madrid, Barcelona And City

Liverpool are eyeing a sensational move for Paris Saint-Germain Kylian Mbappe, according to El Desmarques. The Spanish news outlet reports that the Reds are willing to break the bank to sign the France World Cup winner.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester City are also said to be after the 20-year-old, but Liverpool are believed to be prepared to pay him €40m (£34.5m) a year to move to Anfield, which works out at £664,000 a week.

Mbappe’s current contract expires in 2022, and some reports have suggested that the Frenchman is reluctant to sign a new deal. If that is the case then PSG may have to consider offers for the player in the next 12 months.

El Desmarques claim a figure of €250m (£216m) will be needed and they say that the Reds can afford it after not spending any money in the transfer market last summer. They also suggest that if they do land Mbappe that Mo Salah could be available for Real to snap up.

There a number of wild claims here, so it is certainly best to take this rumour with a large pinch of salt.
