REPORT: Liverpool Willing To Offer Euro 2020 Star 99K A Week As They Consider Making 54M Bid

Liverpool are willing to offer Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella a €6m a year (£99,000 a week) contract if he makes the move to Anfield this summer, according to InterLive.it.

The Italian website claims the Reds are prepared to pay as much as €63m (£54m) for the Italian international, who excelled for his country at the European Championships.

Barella, along with the likes of Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez and Lille’s Renato Sanches, have been heavily linked with a switch to Merseyside in recent weeks, as the club step up their attempts to find a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldium.

However, InterLive.it don’t think Liverpool will get much joy if they do make a formal approach for Barella in the coming weeks. They say that the Nerazzurri are determined to keep hold of the midfielder, despite the “very high figures” being proposed.

At the moment, the Barella story is only being reported in Italy so it may be the case that the player’s agent is using Liverpool’s name as a way of getting his client a new, improved contract.
