REPORT: Liverpool Willing To Table “Astronomical Figure” To Sign La Liga Starlet With 864M Release Clause

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool are prepared to offer an “astronomical figure” for Barcelona forward Ansu Fati, according to OK Diario.

The Spanish website reports that both the Reds and Manchester United are “keeping an eye” on the 20-year-old who has only made three league starts this season.

Fati signed a new contract back in October last year, which included a €1bn (£864m) release clause in order to ward off potential suitors.

At the moment, Barca are not believed to be considering selling the Spanish international, while the player himself is said to be happy at the Camp Nou.

However, if his playing situation doesn’t improve, things could still change. Ok Diario report that Liverpool see Fati as a perfect replacement for Sadio Mane, while United are thought to be considering him as an option to strengthen their forward line following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.

A January bid from either club doesn’t look likely at this stage but an approach in the summer may not be out of the question.
