Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is preparing a €140m (£119m) offer for Liverpool forward Sadio Mane in the summer, according to Don Balon.

The Spanish rumour mongers claim that Perez is looking to return to the Galactico era and has made the Reds star his “chosen one” as he looks to rebuild the squad to challenge on all fronts for next season.

Mane has been in excellent form, having scored 15 goals and provided 11 assists in 31 appearances this campaign. The Senegalese international has been repeatedly linked with a move to Real with manager Zinedine Zidane reportedly a big fan of the player.

Even so, it is best to take this rumour with a large pinch of salt. Don Balon are not the most reliable of sources, and while a bid from Real for Liverpool’s no.10 cannot be ruled out, it would be a surprise if the 27-year-old was looking to leave.

Mane has expressed his desire in the past to stay at the Reds “forever” while the Senegalese star only signed a new contract 15 months ago.
