Reporter Reveals Kylian Mbappe’s ‘Preference’ As Liverpool And United Battle It Out For Frenchman

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe’s “preference” would be to play for Liverpool ahead of Manchester United if he moves to the Premier League this summer, according to journalist Duncan Castles.

The reporter who, it must be said, isn’t always reliable believes that Mbappe sees either England or Spain as his next potential transfer, and the presence of Jurgen Klopp at Anfield could be an important factor:

“He, as we have reported, is keen on moving to one of two leagues for the next stage of his career. Either the Premier League where his preference I am told would be a move to Liverpool. He likes Manchester United as a club, but his preference would be to work with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool. Or [he wants to move] to Spain; where Barcelona are an option. But obvious financial difficulties and Real Madrid have pursued him since before he went to PSG.”

Mbappe is currently in negotiations with PSG over extending his contract. His current deal expires in 2022 so if he does turn down an extension, his club would be forced into selling him this summer.

However, even if that were to happen, the 22-year-old would cost a huge sum of money, which Liverpool may not be able to afford. It’s wise to take these rumours about the France international with a large pinch of salt, although there is no doubt every supporter would love to see him move to Merseyside.
