Romano Claims Klopp Sees 30M Rated Spanish Ace As “Perfect For Liverpool”

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of Wolves winger Adama Traore but no bid is “imminent” for the Spanish international, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist claims that, while Klopp sees Traore as a great fit for Liverpool’s squad, no move will be made for the 25-year-old until the Reds have sold some fringe players:

“The links about Liverpool are because Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the player. He thinks Traore would be perfect for Liverpool. I’m told there are no negotiations between Liverpool and Wolves. It’s because Liverpool first have to sell players. [Xherdan] Shaqiri has to leave the club. Let’s see what happens with [Divock] Origi. They’re working to sell players in the coming days before they move.”

“They’re working on it and then they want to sign a new attacking player and a new midfielder if they have the right opportunity in August. Klopp likes the player but there are no negotiations between the two clubs. There isn’t something imminent for Liverpool as of today.”

It is the first time a respectable source has linked Liverpool with Traore this summer but it must be said that Romano did not say the winger would be the Merseyside club’s number one target.

The Spaniard is believed to be available for as little as £30m, but we shall see how accurate those reports are. If he was set to be sold for such a low price, though, Klopp would certainly encourage sporting director Michael Edwards to make a move for the player.

Other teams have been linked with Traore as well. Chelsea are thought to be monitoring the player’s situation, so we shall see who makes a formal approach for him in the coming weeks.
