Liverpool have made a proposal to Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister and “discussions” are “advancing” ahead of a potential summer transfer, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian reporter has emphasised that no agreement is in place yet but the Reds do appear to be making a concerted effort to recruit the Argentinian international:

Brighton are believed to be looking to sell Mac Allister for around £70m, and that sort of money would have previously been devoted to Jude Bellingham but, with the Englishman looking set to join Real Madrid, resources have been freed up to sign other players.
While Liverpool do appear to be the frontrunners for Mac Allister’s signature, other Premier League teams have been credited with an interest in the 24-year-old.
Manchester United, in particular, are said to be very keen on the player, while Manchester City, Newcastle and Chelsea have also been mentioned as potential suitors.
