Romano Provides Update On Griezmann’s Future Amid Liverpool And Arsenal Links

Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann is unlikely to leave the Catalan club this summer, with the France international keen on remaining at the Camp Nou, according to the Guardian‘s Fabrizio Romano.

There have been reports in the English press over the past few days suggesting that Liverpool, along with Arsenal and Manchester United, were keeping tabs on the 29-year-old’s situation.

Griezmann has struggled to establish himself since he made his €120m (£107m) move from Atletico Madrid last summer but when asked about the links to Liverpool on Twitter, Romano replied that the Reds are fully focused on signing Thiago from Bayern Munich:

It is not a surprising development as Griezmann would have cost a huge sum and the Premier League champions are certainly in no position to spend so much on one player. With the Frenchman in his late twenties as well, he would not fit the profile of a Liverpool signing.
