Romano Reveals Liverpool Are “Interested” In 100M Rated Bundesliga Midfield Maestro But Warns It’s An “Open Race”

Liverpool remain “interested” in signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham but any deal will have to wait until next summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Writing in his new column for CaughtOffside.com, the Italian journalist claims Bellingham made a decision to stay with Dortmund for another season a few months ago and he doesn’t want to think too far ahead about his future.

While the Reds are likely to be in the mix for Bellingham, Romano did make clear that it is an “open race” for the teenager’s signature, with a whole host of teams keeping tabs on his progress.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the England international so Liverpool won’t necessarily be the frontrunners for the player next year.

Dortmund’s price tag is also expected to be a key stumbling block for clubs with respected local reporter Paul Joyce claiming in March that any deal could be “complicated” to negotiate if the Bundesliga side hold out for £100m.
