Romano Reveals What Klopp Has Told Liverpool’s Board About Signing Werner

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told the club’s board that RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner would be a “perfect” addition to the squad if he is signed this summer, according to the Guardian reporter Fabrizio Romano.

The usually reliable journalist has said that the Reds have not given up on signing the German international, despite claims in recent days that the Merseyside club have refused to meet the forward’s €60m (£54m) release clause.

It is believed that the buyout fee will only be in place until June 15th so the Reds only have a couple more weeks to make a decision, and it appears Klopp has made his feelings known about Werner.

The 24-year-old apparently is very keen on moving to Anfield, having already turned down overtures from Inter Milan. The likes of Manchester United and Chelsea are also keeping tabs on the player but it seems he is Liverpool’s to lose.
