Ruben Neves Has Already Told Liverpool And Other Clubs His Transfer Plans Amid Renewed Speculation

Liverpool have been linked with Wolves’ Ruben Neves once again this week as the Reds consider strengthening their options in midfield.

The Portuguese international has previously said that he has considered a departure from Molineux, stating back in August:

“I try to focus 100 per cent on my football and I had a good start to the season but we need results now. If you ask me at the end of last season I would have said to you, ‘I will leave,’ but I’m still here, so we never know what’s going to happen.”

Neves is obviously still likely to be interested in moving teams, based on those comments, but despite the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and even Barcelona having been credited with an interest in the player, an official offer has never materalised.

Whether Liverpool will make an attempt to secure the 25-year-old’s services this month, we shall have to wait and see. Wolves has previously valued the player at around £70m, but his contract situation means they can no longer hold out for that amount.

With Neves’s current deal expiring in less than eighteen months’ time, it looks likely that the midfielder will be allowed to leave for a much lower fee, but a lot depends on whether the Reds class him as a priority target.
