Sancho Speaks Out On His Future As He Reveals Which Liverpool Legend He “Idolised” Growing Up

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has refused to be drawn on whether he will return to the Premier League in the future.

The 20-year-old has been heavily linked with Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool in recent months but the England international has was not forthcoming about his future plans:

“I don’t know what to say to that. It’s hard to say. That’s the future. You never know what could happen, so we will wait and see.”

Liverpool are not expected to be frontrunners for Sancho considering Dortmund are likely to demand in excess of £100m for the player but the winger has also said that he was a fan of Reds legend John Barnes growing up:

“My dad was a big fan of John Barnes. He had a couple of videos of him at home and I used to watch them a lot. I used to look at Ronaldinho on YouTube. That was a big thing for me. He used to try things that no-one else would try and that made me like him a lot.

“I didn’t have a team that I supported, though. I just idolised a lot of great players.”

Reports have suggested that Liverpool have been keeping tabs on the former Manchester City player but any interest would likely depend on him staying at Dortmund for another year.

The Reds are said to be unwilling to spend due to the uncertainty caused by the global health crisis but the financial climate may have changed in twelve months time. The only way Sancho is likely to remain in Germany is if no clubs meet Dortmund’s asking price, which is a possibility.
