Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson turned 25 yesterday, and James Milner was quick to take to Twitter to aim a sly dig at his teammate.
The club’s vice-captain made a joke about Robertson’s immaturity despite being in his mid-twenties:
Just been training with birthday boy @andrewrobertso5 – although no evidence that the extra year of wisdom has kicked in yet?? #topman #topplayer pic.twitter.com/QWnSvLsRvm

Milner and the Scotland captain have struck up a good friendship since the defender’s arrival in 2017, and fans on Twitter were enjoying the camaraderie:

Great humour, love it. He is well under 30, not ancient like some!, they call it jealousy Mr Milner. Hope you and all the lads celebrate properly by beating the Germans on their back yard!!! They may sack their managers as well!!! YNWA

Milner didn’t stop there with his mocking of Robertson. He even posted a comment on Instagram that many supporters enjoyed.
The Reds will be hoping the team spirit will help them as they set their sights on winning the Premier League title this season.
Before that, however, they have the small matter of facing Bayern Munich in the Champions League tomorrow night. The tie is finely poised heading into the second leg with the score at 0-0.
Milner has been carrying a minor hamstring injury and he is touch and go to be fit for the match.
