AC Milan are interested in recruiting Liverpool midfielder Fabinho, according to reports in Italy.

The Reds only signed the Brazilian international for £40m from Monaco in the summer, but the Rossoneri believe the player could be open to leaving Anfield.

Fabinho struggled for game time at the start of the season as he adapted to manager Jurgen Klopp’s tactics, but he has started the last three Premier League games against Cardiff, Arsenal and Fulham.

It is believed that Milan are looking to strengthen their options in midfield, with Chelsea loanee Tiemoue Bakayoko having failed to impress since he arrived at the San Siro back in June.

With Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson having now fully recovered from a hamstring injury, it will be interesting to see whether Fabinho drops out in favour of the England international.

Klopp has been playing with two defensive midfielders in recent games, and it could be the case that he chooses to start both players against Watford after the international break.
