Lazio have entered the race to sign Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri, according to reports in the Italian media.
The Swiss international is said to be keen on leaving Anfield this summer, and it is likely the Reds are open to selling the 29-year-old in order to raise funds for other transfers.
Shaqiri has struggled with injuries over the past two seasons, limiting his game time severely, and that fact, combined with the impact of the global health crisis, could affect the midfielder’s price tag.
Lazio are, though, still deliberating over whether to make an approach for the Swiss star. Sporting Director Igli Tare is believed to have more than one player in mind to strengthen the club’s midfield.
Rangers’ Ianis Hagi is also thought to be an option and the Serie A side are yet to decide whether to go after the Romanian international or make a move for Shaqiri instead. We shall see in the coming weeks which deal they plump for.
