Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian will be staying at the club as Alisson Becker’s number two, according to The Athletic‘s Liverpool correspondent James Pearce.
The Spaniard is reportedly happy to remain at Anfield and the Reds are unlikely to sell the shot-stopper. Some fans on Twitter are disappointed by the news:
sigh

Goalkeeper is happy but we are not

Dissagree. Adrian stepped in as Alisson’s deputy when he was injuried and suspended and did it well.
The reason we exit the FA Cup was due to a weakened squad and in the case of the CL we lost to a better side.

Edwards sell Adrian and replace him with a keeper that can do the basic requirements of a keeper in pro football ie
Catch a ball
Kick a ball high and long over the half way line
Parry a shot away from your goal
Make a simple 20/25 yard Pass to his own player etc etc— nomad@XXX (@nomad56060053) May 29, 2020
he should leave

There is no getting away from the fact that Adrian was very poor against Atletico Madrid in the 3-2 defeat back in March, while he was also at fault for a goal against Chelsea in the FA Cup in the preceding game.
However, he is a number two keeper, and the club will be hard-pressed to find one that is of a similar quality to Alisson.
With the Brazilian’s standards being so high, there is always going to be drop off when he is sidelined with injury and Adrian does have some credit still in the bank, considering his penalty save won the UEFA Super Cup back in August.
