Liverpool could consider making an approach for Real Madrid centre-back Eder Militao in the January transfer window, according to rumours coming from Spain.
The Brazilian defender was signed from Porto for €50m (£45m) in 2019 but has struggled to nail down a place in manager Zinedine Zidane’s first-team plans.
Supporters on Twitter are very much divided on whether snapping up Militao would be a good idea. Some feel he has untapped potential while others believe the 22-year-old is simply not a good enough defender:
Sign him up Edwards!!!!

Unless Edwards needs a strong link to CM Firmino I don’t see why he would want him

Militao is still very young for a centre-half so sporting director Michael Edwards may believe he can develop into a top-class player in the future.
However, Real are unlikely to offload the Brazilian international unless they receive a substantial fee for the player. A loan deal may be more realistic but the Reds have rarely signed players on a temporary basis since Jurgen Klopp’s arrival at Anfield five and a half years ago. This could well be one of those rumours with very little substance.
