Liverpool could make a move for Leicester attacking midfielder James Maddison this summer, according to 90min.com and TEAMtalk journalist Graeme Bailey.

Newcastle, Manchester United and Tottenham have been mentioned as potential suitors in recent weeks but Bailey claims that Jurgen Klopp’s side should not be ruled out as contenders either:

“Sources close to the player insist there are a number of clubs showing an interest. We know Tottenham have always been big fans and remain so, whilst I wouldn’t rule out Liverpool coming in for him. This is not a done deal in terms of where he is going to go, far from it.”

Maddison has been in good form this campaign, having scored 10 goals and provided nine assists in 27 league appearances for Leicester, despite the Foxes struggling against relegation.

With the England international having just a year left on his contract, his exit from the King Power Stadium looks almost certain, with reports suggesting he could be available for around £45m.

You would have to think that Maddison will only be considered if a move for Mason Mount doesn’t end up materialising. They have similar traits and take up the same positions so you can’t see both of them being signed.
