South American Star ‘Fully Determined’ To Seal Liverpool Move Amid Claims He Has Agreed 213K A Week, 5 Year Deal

Benfica striker Darwin Nunez is “fully determined” to complete his move to Liverpool, despite there being “more attractive offers” from other clubs, according to Record.

The Portuguese tabloid report that Manchester United are prepared to pay more for the Uruguayan international but the player has already made his decision about his next destination.

It was claimed earlier this week that Liverpool had made an offer of around €80m (£68m) for Nunez, with another €20m (£17m) in add-ons. Subsequent reports have suggested that the forward has agreed a five-year contract with the Reds, worth above €250,000 (£213,000) a week.

The deal has not been finalised (at the time of writing), with Benfica still hoping to get more money upfront for the 22-year-old, while they are also asking for the performance-related bonuses to be more achievable.

There is still a chance that another team could hijack the move (the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle, Arsenal and West Ham have also been mentioned as potential suitors, in addition to United), but a move to Liverpool looks very likely as things stand.
