‘TAA Ain’t Second To Nobody’ ‘Ward Prowse Is Disrespected Big Time’ Liverpool Fans React As Micah Richards Lists His Top 10 Set Piece Takers

BBC and Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards has named Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold as his second-best set piece taker in Premier League history.

Former Manchester United winger David Beckham comes out on top, with Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier making his top three. Fellow Saint James Ward-Prowse is fourth, with Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Alan Shearer, Gianfranco Zola, David Silva and Rory Delap completing the top ten.

Supporters on Twitter were split on whether Alexander-Arnold should be higher or lower on Richards’ list:

It is a hard one to call. Set pieces comprise of direct and indirect free-kicks, corners and throw-ins so it depends which type you place more importance on.

Alexander-Arnold is excellent at delivering balls into the box from corners and free-kicks, but he isn’t as consistent when it comes to scoring from set-pieces. James Ward-Prowse is way ahead on that front. Beckham was great both when crossing and shooting so perhaps Richards is right to put him at the top.
