“That Interest Is Normal” Agent Of 67M Rated South American Star Speaks Out On Possible Premier League Switch

The agent of Porto winger Luis Diaz has claimed that interest from the likes of Liverpool is only to be expected after an excellent start to the season by the Colombian international.

Speaking to a radio station in Portugal, Carlos Van Strahalen replied to questions about a potential transfer by saying that he is not surprised by the speculation:

“It’s normal. If a player plays well, if he starts to stand out, if the majority considers him the best player in the Portuguese League, if he’s the top scorer and is making a high-level Champions League, that interest is normal. Can he leave Porto? I don’t know.”

Diaz has been in great form, having scored 11 goals in just 16 appearances for Porto this campaign, but reports suggest that his club would not be prepared to sell him for less than his €80m (£67m) release clause in January.

Other Premier League clubs, such as Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle have also been credited with an interest in the 24-year-old, in addition to the likes of Roma, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

While Reds boss Jurgen Klopp could do with strengthening his forward options, it’s unlikely that the Merseyside club’s transfer budget would stretch to match Diaz’s asking price.
