The ongoing argument between Liverpool and Chelsea fans about who is better out of Mo Salah and Eden Hazard continues to rage on social media.
Salah has just recorded his sixth goal in the Champions League group stages this season, and one account on Twitter commented that Hazard has only managed nine in his entire career:
6 goals in the Champions League group stage this season for Mo Salah.
As a comparison, Eden Hazard has scored 9 Champions League goals in his entire career.

Some fans were astonished at the sizeable gap between the two in terms of goals scored in Europe’s top competition:
That’s an unreal stat

It’s not fair to compare the king with average player

Thought we moved from this comparison. Salah has proved himself enough

People can argue about whether the two players are comparable, considering Salah plays more like a wide forward, while Hazard’s role meant he was less focused on being a goalscorer.
However, the stark difference in terms of goal contributions does make a big case for Salah. The Egyptian has now scored 32 goals for Liverpool in Europe, just nine behind Steven Gerrard in the club’s all-time list. He may not get the record this season but there’s no doubt he’ll surpass it before he finishes his career at Anfield.
