Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino should be ready to start the Champions League final against Tottenham according to Jurgen Klopp.
The Brazilian missed the run-in with a groin injury but has been back in training over the last couple of weeks.
Klopp says he is confident that Firmino will be back to face Spurs on Saturday night:
“Bobby trained, was part of training last week and looked really good, everything was fine. Then we took him out again. He will be in training from tomorrow on again.”
“All that we saw so far looked really good and he will be fine, I’m pretty sure.”
Fans on Twitter are very happy to hear that the 27-year-old is winning his fitness battle:
That’s great news

However, a few are hoping Divock Origi is picked ahead of him for the final because of his recent exploits:
He should come off the bench for Origi then?

Origi should start surely especially if he ain’t had game time recently

Honestly we have Origi so we’ll be fine either way

If Firmino is fit, Klopp will almost certainly pick him in the starting eleven this weekend. The Brazilian international is integral to how the Reds play and provides an excellent foil for both Sadio Mane and Mo Salah.
The trio have scored 68 goals between them in all competitions this campaign and will be hoping to get on the scoresheet once again on Saturday.
