The EFL Confirm New Dates For Liverpool’s Carabao Cup Semi Final Tie Against Arsenal

Liverpool will now play the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Arsenal at Anfield next week, the EFL have confirmed.

The game on January 13th was originally due to be the second leg but, after postponing the match at the Emirates following a virus outbreak in the Reds’ squad, the fixtures have been rearranged.

It means that the Emirates fixture, which was set to take place on Thursday, has now been moved to January 20th. That date is significant as that could have been used to play the postponed league match versus Leeds, which was called off on Boxing Day.

Liverpool were due to have a winter break between the Palace game on January 23rd and Leicester on February 10th, but the fixture postponements mean that the two-week gap will now likely be filled with matches. We shall see how things develop in the coming days and weeks.
