Torben Piechnik
The Dane has gone down as one of the worst pieces of transfer business in the Merseyside club’s history. Graeme Souness made some terrible signings during his time in charge, but the defender is widely regarded as the worst of the lot.
Piechnik actually played in the final and won Euro 92 with Denmark, but he struggled to adapt to life in England, and he played 17 league games before being sold by Souness’s successor Roy Evans.
