Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson put in an excellent display against Fulham yesterday afternoon.
The Scotland captain delivered a superb ball for Xherdan Shaqiri to volley home for the second goal, and also threatened to score himself when he had a shot saved by Cottagers’ keeper Sergio Rico.
Fans on Twitter were full of praise for Robertson following the 2-0 home win:
The guy is on fire

Robertson is not only the best left back in the @PremierLeague. He is the best left back in the premier league by an absolute country mile. Surely pushing for one of the best in the world right now. Solid and resolute with attacking contributions week in week out. #LFC

The 24-year-old now has five assists for the campaign; the same number he managed during the whole of his first season at the Reds.
Robertson’s ability to deliver threatening balls into the box consistently makes him a tremendous asset to the Reds, while he has also proven to be very able defensively.
The Merseyside club have the joint best defensive record in the Premier League, along with Manchester City, having conceded just five goals in 12 matches.
Their defence will be tested again after the international break when they make the trip to Watford. The Hornets have won four of their six home games at Vicarage Road this season, losing only to Manchester United and Bournemouth.
