‘The King Must Stay’ ‘Better Stay Or I’m About To Freak Out’ Liverpool Fans React As Salah Speaks Out About Links To La Liga Giants

Liverpool winger Mo Salah has admitted that he is flattered with the interest being shown in him by Barcelona but he has no ambitions to leave Anfield:

“I read what was said about [Barca head coach] Xavi’s interest to sign me. This is something that makes me happy that a team like Barcelona is interested in me, but I’m happy in Liverpool and we will see what happens in the future. At the moment, I prefer to stay in the Premier League as it’s the strongest league in the world.”

The Egyptian international has been in outstanding form this season but, there are concerns about his future, with the forward having just over eighteen months left on his contract with the Merseyside club. Fans on Twitter are hoping that the Reds can agree a new deal with Salah very soon:

It does appear that Salah is still waiting for an offer from Liverpool that he would deem acceptable. There have been reports that the 29-year-old is demanding £500,000 a week but those stories have since been refuted.

Even so, negotiations do seem to be dragging on a bit longer than the player would like. Liverpool’s owners Fenway Sports Group run a tight ship financially and they are hesitant to break their wage structure. Only time will tell whether they will make an exception for Salah.
