Liverpool are interested in signing Olympiakos left-back Kostas Tsmikas, according to reports in the Greek media. It is claimed that the 23-year-old is being lined up to provide competition for Andy Robertson.
The Scotland captain has not a direct competitor since Alberto Moreno left the Reds last summer, and it seems the Merseyside club are considering a €25m (£22m) bid to bring in Tsmikas.
Supporters on Twitter had a mixed reaction to reports that Liverpool are pursuing the Greek international:
They won't pay 22m for a backup

Tsmikas is on the radar of quite a few clubs, with Napoli, Leicester and Arsenal having been linked with the player in recent months. The fullback has been in pretty decent form this season, having provided seven assists in 37 appearances for Olympiakos.
He also impressed when facing the Gunners in the Europa League as his side progressed to the last 16 of the competition back in February. Whether he would be able to make the step up to the Premier League, though, it remains to be seen.
