Liverpool midfielder Fabinho put in a man of the match display against Tottenham in the 2-1 win yesterday. The Brazilian was flawless in the middle of the park both with and without the ball.
Although he hasn’t been credited with the assist, his pass did lead to Jordan Henderson’s equaliser at the beginning of the second half, and his ability to sense danger and cut out Spurs’s counter-attacks demonstrated a world-class defensive midfielder at work.
Supporters on Twitter have been running out of superlatives for Fabinho:
For 40million? This man is worth 100million.

The 26-year-old has started all but one of Liverpool’s ten Premier League games this campaign, and manager Jurgen Klopp has been reluctant to leave him out of the team because of his importance to the side.
However, Fabinho is unlikely to feature against Arsenal on Wednesday night as the Reds are expected to make a number of changes for the Carabao Cup fourth-round tie at Anfield.
