Liverpool have reportedly held talks about signing Ajax winger Antony. Manchester United are also said to be keen on the Brazilian international and the two rivals could be set to fight it out over the player’s signature.
Supporters on Twitter are very sceptical about the reports, mostly because Ajax are thought to be demanding around €80m (£68m) for Antony:
This should happen just to spite the Mancs 😆

Very interesting player! Not sure if the talk was initiated before Salah's new contract! If it was, just wonder if he would be keen to join now!

Liverpool and Chelsea have both been credited with an interest in Antony over the past few months but United are the only ones who are expected to make a bid this summer.
Before Mo Salah signed his new contract, Antony may have been considered by Jurgen Klopp’s side but, now the Egyptian has put pen to paper on a new deal, it would be a massive surprise if the Reds were willing to shell out a sizeable fee for another winger who plays in the same position. For that reason alone, there is unlikely to be any truth to the story.
