Three Watford stars Liverpool must be wary of this weekend

Liverpool host Watford at Anfield on Saturday as they look to bounce back from their defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Jurgen Klopp’s men were beaten 2-1 by United at the weekend – a Marcus Rashford brace proving the difference between the two sides in what was a hotly contested affair.

The defeat saw Liverpool slip to five points behind United in second place, however with nine games to play, there is still all to play for, and Klopp will be hoping for a big response from his side this weekend where it could be worth having

However the visitors are no roll-over having won three of their past five Premier League games, and will be looking to continue their strong end of the season run going at Anfield on Saturday so you might get decent odds on both teams from a ladbrokes promo code offer.

Could these three be the Hornets stars that prove to be Liverpool’s downfall?

Troy Deeney

A Watford hero who had seemingly lost his way, Troy Deeney has fired himself back into the hearts of the Hornets faithful his inspired performances of late. The Englishman has hit three goals in his last five games, including two winners in 1-0 victories over both Everton and West Brom.

While he lacked the cojones to fire in from the penalty spot at Arsenal at the weekend, Deeney is still a man in form and one with something to prove. Rumoured to be on his way out of Watford at the end of the season – expect Deeney to be determined to fire the goals that will keep him at Vicarage Road.

Abdoulaye Doucouré

The Hornets stand-out player this season. So much so that a number of the Premier League’s big boys are keeping tabs on him, including Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United – all of whom have been impressed with his performances this season.

The Frenchman is a powerhouse box-to-box midfielder, capable of both breaking up the play and getting forward with potency – as demonstrated by his seven goals this season making him the club’s top scorer.

Stefano Okaka

One goal this season might not make for the most worrying to reading for Liverpool fans when it comes to Stefano Okaka. The Italian has struggled to assert himself at Vicarage Road this season, making only two starts for the Hornets.

However, when Okaka is given the rare opportunity to showcase his stuff, the 28-year-old represents exactly the kind of threat Liverpool’s defence struggles to deal with.

Big, combative and especially strong in the area – both in terms of his physical presence and his movement – Okaka, if given the chance, prove to be a handful for the likes of Dejan Lovren in the heart of the Liverpool back four.
