Recently, FiveThirtyEight have put together a list of the ‘Global Club Rankings’, with a few surprise placements and inclusions in the Premier League[via Mail Online].

The list goes down as far as 641, featuring clubs from across the world – at the bottom of the list is Crawley Town, but we’ll be looking at the top five in this piece.

The list is based mainly on recent success – for example, if a club has achieved a high league placement this season, or won a major trophy, their ranking will be bolstered as a result.
