Ian Wright And Gary Neville Disagree As They Predict Who Will Win Between Liverpool And Spurs

Liverpool face a big test in the Premier League this weekend when they take on Tottenham.

Speaking on Sticking to Football, ex-Arsenal striker Ian Wright said he was confident that the Reds will secure the 3 points:

“Someone is winning that, I’m telling you. I think Liverpool win this one.”

Clearly, Wright is expecting an end-to-end game, with both sides’ main strengths being in the final third of the pitch. However, he appears to be suggesting that Jurgen Klopp’s men have more firepower.

When asked for his own prediction on the same show, former Manchester United defender Gary Neville replied: “I say 1-1.”

Liverpool will need to be at their very best to secure a result on Saturday

While both Wright and Neville appear to be confident that the Reds won’t be on the losing side against Spurs, it isn’t a game that the Merseysiders will be taking lightly.

Ange Postecoglou’s team will have a full week to prepare for the match, unlike Liverpool who face Leicester City in the Carabao Cup midweek.

Spurs will also have home advantage and they will be in confident mood after securing a 2-2 draw in the North London derby last time out.

Klopp will know that he needs to get his team selection right

The Reds boss has plenty of options at his disposal and, with Trent Alexander-Arnold closing in on a return to fitness, there is an almost fully fit squad to choose from.

However, one of the main question marks about Liverpool’s title credentials is whether they are good enough defensively.

Despite winning 5 of their first 6 league games, they do have vulnerabilities at the back. The Reds were particularly poor in the first half against Newcastle before Darwin Nunez came to the rescue. Getting the balance right between defence and attack will be the main challenge for Klopp, so we shall see how he decides to line up on Saturday.
