Galatasaray are lining up a loan bid for Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri, according to Fotomac. The Turkish newspaper claims that the Super Lig side’s manager Fatih Terim is very keen on snapping up the Swiss international in order to strengthen his squad.
However, the Reds will demand at least €20m (£18m) for the 28-year-old, with Galatasaray planning to sell off either Sofiane Feghouli or Younes Belhanda if the Merseyside club insist on a permanent move.
Shaqiri is reportedly looking for a new challenge after having his game time restricted to just ten matches this season. Some of that has been down to the injury problems he has suffered with a troublesome calf having kept him out of action for a number of months.
Manager Jurgen Klopp does not like keeping unhappy players, and if the Swiss star does insist on a move at the end of the season, he could well get his wish.
