Two Liverpool Players In Contention As The Best FIFA Football Award Nominees For 2021 Are Announced

Liverpool forward Mo Salah has been nominated for The Best FIFA Men’s Player award, along with ten other stars.

The Egyptian international is going up against Chelsea pair Jorginho & N’Golo Kante, Paris Saint-Germain trio Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland for the prize.

The Best FIFA Football Awards were set up as a successor for the World Player of the Year, following the split with the organisers of the Ballon d’Or. If Salah were to win the award, he would be the first African to win the accolade since it was set up in 2016.

Goalkeeper Alisson Becker is also named on the list of nominees for the Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper, along with Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy, Paris Saint-Germain’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer and Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel.

You can vote for the awards by signing in via FIFA.com here. Voting ends at midnight on December 10th.
