Two Liverpool Stars Named Along With 2 Other PL Stars As 40 Man ‘Golden Boy’ Shortlist Is Announced

Liverpool pair Fabio Carvalho and Harvey Elliott have made the cut for Tuttosport‘s “Golden Boy” award shortlist.

The number of players has now been reduced to just 40 names and the Reds duo are among only four Premier League players to be listed, along with Arsenal’s Marquinhos and Manchester United’s Anthony Elanga.

Carvalho and Elliott (in particular) have featured prominently at the start of the season for Jurgen Klopp’s side. Injuries have played a part in that, but the talent of the two players is not in question.

While Klopp has placed a lot of faith in Elliott to hold down a position in midfield, Carvalho has made some telling contributions from the bench; the highlight (of course) being his last-gasp winner against Newcastle last month.

Although the winner of the ‘Golden Boy’ accolade is ultimately handed out by journalists, fans can have a say in narrowing down the shortlist. You can vote for your favourite here.
