Two Turkish Giants Set To Battle It Out For £27m Rated Liverpool Frontman

Besiktas have joined Galatasaray in the battle to sign Liverpool striker Divock Origi, according to reports in Turkey.

The Lions were reported last week as being interested in the Belgian international, but it seems their Istanbul rivals have also entered the running.

Liverpool were reportedly demanding £27m for Origi in the summer following his return from a season-long loan spell at Bundesliga club Wolfsburg.

However, the only club who registered an interest at the time were Borussia Dortmund who only wanted the 23-year-old on loan.

It’s unlikely that the two Turkish Super Lig sides would be prepared to pay anything close to the Reds’ asking price for Origi.

The Belgian has yet to feature in the club’s first team this season and has failed to even make the bench. He is currently out of action with an ankle injury he sustained for the club’s Under 23 side. He is expected to return to fitness within a matter of weeks.
