Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle all had scouts watching Nice defender Jean Clair Todibo last week, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The journalist claims all three Premier League clubs had representatives in attendance as Nice won 2-1 against Rennes eight days ago:

As Romano mentions, Nice are expected to hold out for a fee in the region of €45m (£39m) to sell Todibo this summer. Fans on Twitter had a mixed reaction to the Reds’ interest in the centre-back:

We need to focus on the midfield before anything first

Imagine him and Konate in our defense. The French wall, better than the Berlin Wall😍

I'd much rather Inacio but from what I've seen he's decent as well. Very good athlete just like Konate

That’s a good price for us

We need left footed defenders

Todibo is certainly the right age profile. The Frenchman turned 23 in December, but he is right-footed so you do have to wonder where he would fit in.
Ibrahima Konate looks to have the position locked down for many years to come so, unless Joe Gomez leaves, there isn’t really much room for him in the squad. Especially as he could cost £40m, you would think that the money could be better spent elsewhere.
