Liverpool defender Joel Matip did not get on the pitch against Inter Milan last night but the 30-year-old still managed to get in on the action after the Reds scored their first goal.
During the celebrations following Roberto Firmino’s header, the centre-back expressed his delight by whacking the Brazilian, Jordan Henderson and Luis Diaz on the head.
The glare that Matip gets from Henderson, in particular, caught the attention of fans on Twitter, who could not get enough of Matip’s antics:

Matip is very much a cult hero at Anfield. The centre-half may have had his injury problems over the years but he has played a key role in the Merseyside club winning major trophies.
On top of that, his eccentric mannerisms have often been a figure of fun, and this latest incident will only endear him more to supporters. The German-born Cameroonian international is truly one of a kind.
