Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita did not have a bad game against FC Midtjylland last night but he did not make a good enough impression to suggest that he warrants inclusion in the Reds’ first-choice midfield.
The Guinean international is, once again, coming off the back of an injury so he wasn’t at his sharpest and when asked to assess the 25-year-old’s form, fans on Twitter were pretty damning:
Waste of money

It seems like he never get back to that level when he was in Leipzig !

So so frustrating to watch his inconsistency when he was unstoppable at Leipzig

Clearly a player with world class talent but he has been a flop due to his injury record.

Keita will definitely get his opportunities in midfield over the coming weeks if he stays fit. The likes of Thiago Alcantara, James Milner are still sidelined, while Fabinho is having to play in defence.
Even so, on current form, you would have to stay that the first choice trio would be Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Curtis Jones. With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also back in contention following a lengthy knee injury, Keita has it all to do to justify his selection in the starting eleven.
