Watford V Liverpool: Preview, Predicted XI And Betting Odds

Liverpool were lucky against West Ham on Monday. They could have easily lost their first game of the season at Anfield and they will need to be sharper when they travel to face Watford on Saturday.

Manager Jurgen Klopp will be sweating over the fitness of James Milner. The vice-captain was left out of the Hammers victory as a precaution due to a slight muscle strain and he remains a doubt for the weekend.

Jordan Henderson (hamstring), Xherdan Shaqiri (calf) and Nathaniel Clyne (knee) have all been ruled out for the trip to Vicarage Road.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face Watford:

Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson, Milner, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Mane

Hornets boss Nigel Pearson will have been disappointed by their 3-0 loss away against Manchester United last time out. They have now gone six games in all competitions without a win.

On the injury front, though, they are close to having a fully fit squad with Kiko Femenia back from a hamstring problem, and Daryl Janmaat stepping up his recovery from a knee injury.

Watford’s Predicted XI:

Foster, Femenia, Kabasele, Cathcart, Masina, Doucoure, Hughes, Capoue, Pereyra, Deeney, Deulofeu

The bookmakers have Liverpool as firm favourites with Betway pricing them at 4/9 for the win. A draw is 19/5 with Betfred while a Watford victory is 7/1 at Bet365.

Predicted Score – 2-1 to Liverpool
