Wayne Rooney Makes His Prediction As Everton Take On Liverpool

Ex-Everton striker Wayne Rooney believes his former club will get a draw when the Toffees travel to Anfield for the Merseyside derby on Wednesday night.

Liverpool have only dropped two points in the Premier League so far this season, and speaking ahead of the match this week, Rooney is predicting a surprise result:

“I think Everton will get a draw. The way it has been going has been tough. I think they’ll pull together. It’s a massive game for the city and, if Everton win, it could stop Liverpool winning the title.”

Of course, Rooney would never predict his former side to lose against their fiercest rivals, but Marco Silva’s side are struggling this season, with their defeat against Leicester yesterday seeing them languish 17th in the table, just two points off the bottom three.

However, the form book does go out of the window for derbies, and the Reds will be keenly aware they will need to improve on their performance against Brighton on Saturday.

The corresponding fixture last season was a tight affair, with Divock Origi’s famous last gasp winner sealing the three points. Manager Jurgen Klopp will be hoping for a much more comfortable win this time around.
