Liverpool duo Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold have both been ruled out for a number of weeks after picking up injuries in the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.
Matip was replaced by Ibrahima Konate during the second half at the Emirates due to a calf strain, while Alexander-Arnold had to be substituted at half-time after twisting his ankle.
With the Reds’ backline already looking very fragile, fans on Twitter are very much fearing the worst, with Manchester City coming up this weekend:

Everything that could go wrong against Arsenal did go wrong. Not only did they play poorly, the Reds were on the wrong end of three questionable refereeing decisions, whilst key players had to be taken off injured.
Following the news that Luis Diaz will be out until the World Cup with a knee problem, the absences of Matip and Alexander-Arnold have made Jurgen Klopp’s job even harder as he tries to arrest the club’s poor run of form.
