Ex-Liverpool forward Sadio Mane will be sold by Bayern Munich after just a season with the Bundesliga club, according to reports in the German media.
However, due to the wages that the Senegalese international is earning, a return to England seems to be the only realistic possibility.
When asked about whether the club should consider re-signing Mane, most fans on Twitter were against the idea, with many feeling that his time at the Reds has come and gone:
Nope. We’re done with that chapter

Mane is Liverpool legend. But, his time at Anfield is over.

Klopp doesn’t accept players back when they leave

His time with our kit is over. As much as it pains me, which player would he take the place on the pitch ? Diaz, Gakpo, Nuñez ? They are younger, and need time on the pitch. Sadio is getting old (for a player) and he was better a year ago. Now, it's time to move on his departure

I miss Sadio, but I don’t think we should re-sign him

No. He's good but he wanted to leave.

Jurgen won't approve of that though!

While some may want Mane back at Anfield for sentimental reasons, it really wouldn’t make a lot of sense if we look at Liverpool’s squad as it now stands.
Even when Roberto Firmino leaves at the end of the season, manager Jurgen Klopp will still have Mo Salah, Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz as options in the front three. There wouldn’t really be any room for Mane to get a lot of game time.
If he does return to England, both Chelsea and Newcastle have been tipped as potential destinations so we shall see where he ends up.
