‘We’re Excited’ Liverpool Star Confident Of Victory Over Man City At The Weekend

Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold expressed confidence ahead of the Reds’ monumental clash with Manchester City at the weekend in an interview on the official Liverpool club website.

Alexander-Arnold made it clear that the Reds were ready and motivated for their game against the Citizens on Saturday. He said: “Every time you play against Man City, the motivation’s there no matter what. Over the past five, six years, I would say us and them have been the best teams in the league, and they show their quality year in, year out and consistently.

“They’re always up there as one of, if not the best team in the world. That’ll be the same on Saturday. We need to play a really good game and execute our game plan to have a chance of winning it. I think we’re able to go there and get the result but it’s about making sure we earn it.

“I think as a team we’ve probably lacked that confidence at times during the season. But to go and get big results against big teams will instil that confidence back within us. We’re excited as a team, we’re looking fresh, good in training and we’re excited. It’s going to be a big week and then hopefully a big end to the season for us.”

After the conclusion of the international break, Liverpool’s last competitive fixture was on March 15, where they were beaten by Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Manchester City are currently second in the Premier League table, while Liverpool sit in sixth position. However, when the two teams met earlier in the campaign, the Redds emerged victorious – can the repeat the feat on April Fool’s Day?

You can make predictions about the match (e.g who scores first, who commits five fouls first etc) and if you guess correctly, you survive.

The unique twist? You get two lives to play with so if you get one of your predictions wrong, you still have an opportunity to win a share of the money.

Even if you make it just to half-time with one life remaining, you will receive some cash and if you make it all the way to full-time, you get to share the prize pot with your fellow participants.

It’s a really great way to test your football knowledge against other supporters, then watch in real-time to discover if your predictions are correct, and perhaps even win yourself some money in the process!
