‘Werner Is Better’ ‘They’re Asking For At Least £70m’ Fans Discuss Reports That Liverpool Have Begun Talks Over Signing Nigerian

Liverpool have started negotiations with Lille over signing striker Victor Osimhen, according to reports in the French media.

The Nigerian international has been linked with a whole host of clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United, but the Reds are said to be very keen on snapping up the player.

Supporters on Twitter think Osimhen would be a downgrade on someone like Timo Werner:

It’s unlikely that Liverpool are involved in any transfer discussions at the moment, with the uncertainty over the global health crisis likely to have delayed any talks about potential summer targets.

Osimhen has certainly had a good season, having scored 18 goals in 38 appearances for Lille, but the Ligue One side are said to be demanding a very high fee for the 21-year-old.

As things stand, the Reds are believed to be in favour of not signing a forward whatsoever with the latest reports claiming that the club’s coaching staff are focused on an increased role for Takumi Minamino instead.
