Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will be looking to give their season a late shot in the arm when they take on David Moyes’ West Ham United on Wednesday evening, with a kick-off time of 7:45pm.
Liverpool are set be without Calvin Ramsay, Naby Keita, Stefan Bajcetic and Roberto Firmino for their game against the Hammers. Thankfully, outside of this, there are no newly confirmed absentees.
In their last game, the Reds defeated Nottingham Forest by a score of 3-2 in a thriller. After a goalless first half, the two teams began to open up in the second period. Jota opened the scoring, only to be pegged back four minutes later by former Liverpool youngster Neco Williams.
Jota doubled his tally for the afternoon, but Forest equalised once again thanks to Morgan Gibbs-White. Liverpool then took the lead for the third time in the game with a goal from Mohamed Salah – this time, Forest had no response.
West Ham, meanwhile, picked up an impressive 4-0 away win at Bournemouth over the weekend. The Irons were completely dominant, countering effectively as the Cherries failed to contain them. The Hammers’ goalscorers on the day were Michail Antonio, Declan Rice, Lucas Paqueta and Pablo Fornals.
When the two teams last came head-to-head in a league game, Liverpool won by a narrow scoreline of 1-0. Darwin Nunez scored the only goal of the game – can the Uruguayan hitman do it again at the London Stadium?
